The trailer of Shaitaan, the much-awaited horror thriller starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyotika and Janki Bodiwala, released recently and it promises to be a nerve-racking ride.
The film, directed by Vikas Bahl, tells the story of a family that unwittingly invites a sinister stranger into their home, who unleashes a series of terrifying events involving dark forces and evil spirits. The film brings together powerhouse talents and promises a thrilling experience like never before. It’s an official remake of Gujarati film Vash.
Shaitaan Advance Booking Report
Advance booking for Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan started on Sunday. Film took a slow start but still steady. As of 6 pm Monday, film has sold 6100 tickets in PvR & Inox And 1600 tickets in Cinepolis. With total 7700 tickets in national chains and 3 days to go, film is certain to cross double digit numbers on day one. Challenge for the film is to grow big over the weekend in order to cross 42 – 47 crore nett weekend as anything below that will be disappointment for this big cast.
Box Office Prediction
Ajay Devgn has multiple releases lined up this year. And he is starting year with a bang with Shaitaan. Film has created right amount of noise though promotions have been on lower side to be honest. Makers are relying on content to do the talk post release.
Still film should open around 9 – 10.50 crore nett on day one and it should score 42 – 47 crore nett weekend with big jump over weekend. A good word of mouth will ensure 100 crore plus nett lifetime which will be an ideal result for the film. Film has London subsidy and rather low budget for Ajay Devgn film.

Runtime Of Shaitaan, Cuts, Modifications And Certification
Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan was censored yesterday. Film has runtime of 2 hour 12 minutes 15 seconds (132:15 minutes). On March 4, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted a U/A certificate to the makers. It has led to jubilation in the trade and exhibition sector as it would mean that not just adults but even family crowds can now throng theatres to see Shaitaan.
Shaitaan received 4 modifications from the Examining Committee (EC) of the CBFC. The EC asked the makers to add a voiceover for the disclaimer and another disclaimer stating ‘the film does not support/endorse black magic’. They also told the makers to add a static message on liquor consumption. An abusive word was replaced with a scream. The film also got a visual cut – the makers were asked to reduce visuals of blood oozing from the mouth by 25%.
Film will also show case the trailer of Ajay Devgn’s much awaited Maidaan which will be added attraction for the audience.
