Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan, which broke several box-office records in India and internationally, is gearing up for it’s release in Russia. The film released in over 3,000 screens in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The mass action spy movie, which also features Deepika Padukone, has already earned Rs 1,050 crore globally with 525 cr net in India and 48 million USD in overseas market. The makers are also expecting to collect a good amount from the box office in Russia and the CIS countries, which include Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The film released in theatres in these countries yesterday on July 13.
Pathaan Beats Baahubali On Day One
Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan released all over in Russia and CIS countries after more than 5 months of its global release. Film shattered all records and collected biggest opening day for Indian film in dubbed Russian language.
Following are the top openings for Indian films in Russia:
1. Pathaan: ₽600K
2. Baahubali 2: ₽430K (5.2M lifetime)
3. 2.0: ₽277K (2.1M lifetime)
Film saw approximately 2,000 admits from 370 locations on day one which is a sizeable number in these markets. Film has healthy advance booking for the weekend and it should easily cross healthy total. The original version had ₽1.6M ($25K) opening day on 50 locs on 25th January.

Pathaan also became the first Hindi film to release in Bangladesh post 1971. It is slated to release in Japan on 1st September. Pathaan is also the highest grossing film of the fabled YRF’s Spy Universe that also includes blockbusters like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai and War.
