Shaitaan Surpasses Expectations On Day 1
Shaitaan, the much-awaited horror thriller starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyotika and Janki Bodiwala, released yesterday and it promises to be a nerve-racking ride. Film’s trailer got good reception and it’s a much awaited release as dull period at box office needed some momentum.
The film was always meant to find a place amongst the Top-10 openers ever for Ajay Devgn since 11-12 crore start on Friday was a given. However, it has covered a lot more distance as well, as a result of which it has zoomed right up there to find a place in the Top-5 instead.
The film has, in fact, gone past Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior as far as the opening day is concerned. With Shaitaan, Ajay Devgn has now challenged even Total Dhamaal, which was one of his other big successes before the pandemic. That film had a start of 16.50 crores, and Shaitaan is just a little below that, as is Drishyam 2.

About Shaitaan
The film takes the audience on a journey with Kabir and his family as their fun weekend retreat takes a nightmarish turn when they let a friendly but mysterious stranger into their house. As the clock ticks, the family will be forced to confront their worst fears in this gripping tale that deals with the sinister elements of Indian Black Magic.
