EXCLUSIVE: Vijay Starrer Leo Crosses Massive 447 Worldwide Gross And 250 Cr Nett Domestic, Biggest Blockbuster For Superstar Ever

Tamil film Leo has emerged as the biggest overseas weekend opener for Kollywood with 15 Million USD . Now it has grossed USD 19 million (Rs. 157 crore) through Tuesday. Combined with the Rs. 250 crore nett (290 cr gross) earned in India, the worldwide total box office gross of the film stands at Rs. 450 crore. It will be surpassing the Rs. 275 crore nett mark tomorrow, once again at a record pace for the industry.

Following a slump in its box office earnings on Friday, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay-starrer Leo made a remarkable comeback on its third day in theatres, registering impressive numbers, on Saturday.

Leo earned Rs 40 crore nett in the domestic market, recording an 11.88 per cent surge in box office earnings from Day 2’s figure of Rs 35.25 crore. Film jumped and collected 39.80 crore nett on Sunday with 13% jump. Film collected huge 41.55 crore nett on Sunday with 4.40% growth.

Film dropped on Monday by 14% and collected 35.70 cr nett. Due to Dussera festival, film held well on Tuesday and collected 32.50 cr nett.

Thursday: 64.80 cr (Tamil: 48.96 cr, Telugu: 12.90 cr, Hindi: 2.80 cr Kannada: 0.14 cr)

Friday: 35.25 cr (Tamil: 29.04 cr, Telugu: 4.50 cr, Hindi: 1.60 cr Kannada: 0.11 cr)

Saturday: 39.80 cr (Tamil: 32.90 cr, Telugu: 4.40 cr, Hindi: 2.80 cr Kannada: 0.14 cr)

Sunday: 41.55 cr (Tamil: 35.30 cr, Telugu: 3.50 cr, Hindi: 2.60 cr Kannada: 0.15 cr)

Monday: 35.70 cr (Tamil: 31.10 cr, Telugu: 2.55 cr, Hindi: 2.80 cr Kannada: 0.14 cr)

Tuesday: 32.50 cr (Tamil: 29.40 cr, Telugu: 1.75 cr, Hindi: 1.25 cr Kannada: 0.10 cr)

Total: 249.60 cr nett All India

Leo Surpasses $19 Million In Overseas In 6 Days

The way the film started on Thursday, it was expected to cruise past USD 20 million in four days. However, there was a bit of a slowdown on Friday and then Saturday didn’t make the required gain in some of the markets, so it won’t pull that off but nevertheless set to surpass the previous four-day number by 20 per cent with USD 18 million projected by EOD Tuesday post 15 Million USD over 4 day weekend.

Leo has broken or will be breaking opening records for Tamil films everywhere barring the United States. That said, the film has performed best in Europe, which is a stronghold for Vijay as even his weakest performers are among the top grossers and this film is certainly not a weak one. Middle East has also seen record numbers with UAE registering 250K admits and around 50K admits in Saudi Arabia, the latter being close to all-time record for Tamil films.

Leo Remains Third To Jawan And Pathaan In Worldwide Gross Earning 

Leo has grossed 295 Crores worldwide gross in 3 days and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan earned 384.69 crore gross worldwide in 3 days. This is because Leoslowed down due to average reviews from day two onwards. Still film has beaten all Tamil films and established a new record.
