Superstar Mahesh Babu‘s latest film, ‘Guntur Kaaram‘, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, was released in theatres on Friday, January 12. It was the biggest release of Sankranthi 2024, and had taken a stellar start at the box office. This film, directed by Trivikram, was anyway going to take a bang due to its star power.
Record Opening Day For Mahesh Babu
Mahesh Babu starrer Guntur Kaaram had a record-breaking opening at the Indian box office, with the film securing career best opening day for the superstar. The film grossed Rs. 41 crore approx on Friday, equalling his previous best of Rs. 41 crore by Sarkaru Vaari Paata in 2022. Nearly all of that came from the Telugu states, which grossed over Rs. 43 crore, also Babu’s highest beating Rs. 36.25 crore of SVP. Overall, the first day in Telugu states is fourth highest of all time behind RRR, Salaar and Baahubali: The Conclusion.
Day 2 Box Office Collections of Guntur Kaaram
However, the film’s box office collection took a hit on its second day, with early estimates around Rs 13 crores. The total net collection of the film stands at Rs 54.30 crores. The weekend is expected to score a good total.
Mahesh Babu’s ‘Guntur Kaaram’ had an overall 46.02% Telugu occupancy on second day, Saturday. The film clashed with another Telugu film, ‘HanuMan’, which had a slow start but grew closer to ‘Guntur Kaaram’ on Saturday.
Mahesh Babu, was even spotted at Sudarshan Theatre in Hyderabad on Saturday, where he watched his latest film, ‘Guntur Kaaram’, along with his fans. The actor was seen enjoying the show in the company of his fans.

Trivikram Srinivas directed ‘Guntur Kaaram’ is the third collaboration between Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas, after their earlier hits like ‘Athadu’ and ‘Khaleja’. The action drama also features Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Jayaram, Prakashraj, and Sunil.
The movie has been made on a massive budget of Rs 200 Crore. Trivikram Srinivas is the director and writer. S Radha Krishna is producing the movie under the Haarika and Hassine Creations banner. Thaman S is scoring the film’s entire background score and tunes. Naveen Nooli and PS Vinod are working as the editor and cinematographer of Guntur Kaaram.
