Main Vaapas Aaunga Box Office: Imtiaz Ali Film Closes Week 2 At Rs 34.75 Crore After 95 Percent Surge

Main Vaapas Aaunga has pulled off the kind of second-week jump that instantly changes the conversation around a film’s theatrical run. The Imtiaz Ali directorial added Rs 2.25 crore on Day 14 and closed its second week with a strong Rs 24.25 crore haul, pushing its total India nett collection to Rs 34.75 crore in 14 days.

Main Vaapas Aaunga Registers Extraordinary Week 2 Growth

The biggest headline from the film’s latest run is its week-on-week rise. After earning Rs 12.50 crore in its opening week, Main Vaapas Aaunga nearly doubled that pace in Week 2 with Rs 24.25 crore. That translates to almost 95 percent growth, a rare and notable trend for a film already into its second week in cinemas.

Its Day 14 number also reflected stability rather than a sharp crash. The film collected Rs 2.25 crore on its second Thursday, which was a 10 percent drop from Wednesday. That kind of hold helped preserve momentum through the weekdays, especially after the film had already built a strong weekend base in its second week.

The second-week trajectory stayed healthy throughout. Main Vaapas Aaunga collected Rs 2 crore on second Friday, jumped to Rs 4.50 crore on Saturday, then climbed further to Rs 5.50 crore on Sunday. It followed that with Rs 2.50 crore on Monday, Rs 3 crore on Tuesday, Rs 2.50 crore on Wednesday, and Rs 2.25 crore on Thursday. Taken together, the pattern points to a film that found sustained audience acceptance beyond its first-week run.

New Releases Will Test The Film’S Momentum

The road ahead, however, gets more competitive from here. With Welcome To The Jungle entering theatres, Main Vaapas Aaunga will now have to protect its screens and maintain a steady hold. The immediate challenge is whether it can continue drawing its audience despite new options in the market.

What works in the film’s favour is its clear connection with a distinct audience segment. That advantage gives it room to stay steady even as the release calendar gets busier over the next few weeks. If the film continues posting controlled weekday drops, its theatrical run will remain firmly on course for a healthy extended stretch.

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Main Vaapas Aaunga has now positioned itself as one of the more interesting second-week box office stories in theatres. More than its opening, it is the film’s sharp post-release climb that stands out, with the latest numbers signalling strong staying power and a run that has gathered genuine momentum at just the right time.
