Mardaani 3, starring Rani Mukerji in the lead role, released on the big screens on 30th January. The cop action drama wrapped its advance sales by selling around 15,000 tickets in the top two national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for the opening day. Of this, around 11,500 tickets were sold at PVRINOX, while the remaining 3500 admissions were recorded at Cinepolis.
Mardaani 3 Remains Decent On Weekdays
Mardaani 3 opened to below par numbers though it grew from evening onwards. Film needed to impress the audience in order to see boost in its collections. Rani Mukerji starrer collected Rs. 4 crore net at the Indian box office on day one which was average. Film grew by 50% on expected lines on day two and registered 6 crore net. Film added 7.25 crore net on Sunday with slim growth.
After 17.25 crore over weekend, film dropped by 40% on Monday and collected 2.40 crore net. Film grew again on Tuesday due to discounted rates and collected 2.75 crore net. Film added 2.30 crore net on day 6 and 2.10 crore net on day 7.
Film collected 26.55 crore net in 1st week which is a decent result for the film.
Mardaani 3 Added 15.65 Crore In 2nd Week
Film managed to hold in 2nd weekend with 2.15 crore net on 2nd Friday, 3.85 crore net on 2nd Saturday and 4.55 crore net on 2nd Sunday. Film added 10.55 crore net over 2nd weekend. Film remained steady on weekdays and crossed 15.65 crore in 2nd week with less than 45% drop from week one.
Mardaani 3 Manages To Add Numbers In 3rd Week
Film held well over 3rd week due to absence of major competition at box office. Film added 3.25 crore net over 3rd weekend and 5.35 crore net over 3rd week which was decent hold.
Film has 21 – day total of 47.55 crore net and it is heading for 50 crore net lifetime. It needs hold over 4th weekend for shot on lifetime total of 55 crore net plus. Hit!

What’s positive for Mardaani 3 is that it is made on a controlled budget. Moreover, it will be a tight release, which is a good strategy. Since the makers have already cracked a good deal at non-theatrical mediums, the movie doesn’t have much burden. However, it will have to prove its worth on the content front.
