Bringing back the trio of Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi, the fourth instalment of the Mastiii franchise disappointed fans over its opening weekend. Although the most-awaited trio reunited once again for Mastiii 4 after nine years, Milap Zaveri directorial movie garnered poor numbers on November 21.
Mastiii 4 Bombs On Day Two
Amis lacklustre opening, the adult comedy movie minted ₹2.25crore net at the domestic box office that too due to 2200 screen size. The film earned Rs 2 crore on Saturday and 2.25 crore on Sunday, bringing the total to Rs 6.50 crore in three days.
Film wrapped weekend under 7 crore and then heavy fall on Monday is inevitable. Just p & a cost of the film exceeds 10 crore (2200 screens and 9000 shows in India costs 5.5 crore) and film will fail to recover even that number from cinemas.
Although Masti and Grand Masti were a success but the third instalment of Masti franchise failed to appease audiences. The Mastiii 4 box office trend indicates that there were not many takers for Great Grand Masti sequel.
Lots of show of the film were cancelled yesterday itself and it’s obvious that it will not grow over the weekend. There seems to tough road ahead for the film.
