Michael Box Office: Jaafar Jackson’S Musical Biopic Nears Rs 75 Crore In India After Strong Week 4 Hold

Nearly a month into its theatrical run, Michael is still dancing at the Indian box office. The Jaafar Jackson led musical biopic has shown the kind of endurance that turns a strong start into a sustained theatrical success, with its fourth week adding fresh weight to an already impressive total.

The film, built around the life and legacy of Michael Jackson, has now crossed the Rs 75 crore mark in India and is closing in on the Rs 80 crore milestone. For a Hollywood musical biographical drama, that hold is significant, especially in a market where franchise spectacles and superhero properties usually dominate the premium conversation.

Michael Holds Well In Week 4

Michael collected Rs 7.50 crore gross in India in its fourth week, taking its 28 day total to Rs 72.30 crore gross. The weekday contribution stood at Rs 3.60 crore, underlining that the film is not relying only on weekend nostalgia or fan rush.

The drop from the previous week was around 40 per cent, which is a healthy hold for a film in its fourth week. The trend keeps Michael firmly on course for its next major India benchmark, with the film now needing only a small push from here.

Its week wise India gross stands at Rs 31.25 crore in Week 1, Rs 20.50 crore in Week 2, Rs 13 crore in Week 3, and Rs 7.50 crore in Week 4. That trajectory makes it one of the notable Hollywood performers in India this year.

Inside Antoine Fuqua’S Michael Jackson Biopic

Michael is a 2026 biographical musical drama directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan. Jaafar Jackson plays Michael Jackson, with the cast also featuring Nia Long, Colman Domingo, Miles Teller, Laura Harrier, Kat Graham, Jessica Sula, Juliano Valdi, and Mike Myers.

The film has been produced by Lionsgate Films, GK Films, and Optimum Productions, with Lionsgate handling the United States release and Universal Pictures handling international distribution. It traces Michael Jackson’s journey from his early years as part of the Jackson 5 to his rise as one of the most influential entertainers in music history.

That mix of music, memory, and big-screen staging has helped Michael sustain its pull beyond the opening rush. Its India run now looks like a clear win for a genre that depends as much on emotional connection as star power.
