Obsession India Box Office: Michael Johnston And Inde Navarrette Starrer Crosses Rs 50 Crore As 2Nd Tuesday Jumps 25 Percent Over 1St Tuesday

Obsession has turned into one of the season’s most talked about Hollywood box office stories in India. What began as a modest horror thriller has now found serious momentum in its second week, with weekday collections refusing to slow down in the way trade usually expects after the first weekend rush.

The Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette starrer crossed the Rs 50 crore gross mark at the Indian box office in 12 days, including paid previews. The film added Rs 4.50 crore gross on its second Tuesday, a day boosted by discounted ticket rates, but the larger headline is its trend. The collection was around 25 percent higher than its first Tuesday figure of Rs 3.40 crore, making the jump impossible to ignore.

Obsession Crosses Rs 50 Crore In India

After paid previews of Rs 0.55 crore, Obsession opened with Rs 1.60 crore on Friday and grew through its first weekend with Rs 3.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.75 crore on Sunday. The film then held strongly across the weekdays, collecting Rs 2.50 crore on Monday and Rs 3.40 crore each on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The second weekend changed the scale of the run. Obsession collected Rs 4.00 crore on its second Friday, followed by Rs 8.00 crore on Saturday and Rs 8.75 crore on Sunday. Even more impressively, its second Monday came in at Rs 4.15 crore, before the second Tuesday pushed higher to Rs 4.50 crore. The running India gross now stands at Rs 50.25 crore.

With the second week heading towards the Rs 36 crore range, Obsession is tracking to reach around Rs 58 crore by the end of Thursday. From there, the film has a realistic shot at moving into the Rs 80 crore to Rs 90 crore zone in India. The Rs 100 crore mark remains a tougher climb, especially with fresh Hollywood and Bollywood titles arriving through June, but the film has already performed far beyond cautious pre release expectations.

What Obsession Is About

Obsession is a supernatural psychological horror film written, directed and edited by Curry Barker in his theatrical feature debut. The film stars Michael Johnston as Bear and Inde Navarrette as Nikki, with Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless and Andy Richter appearing in supporting roles.

The story follows Bear, a music store employee who buys a mysterious supernatural toy that grants him one wish. When he wishes for his friend Nikki to fall in love with him, the desire spirals into dangerous and horrifying consequences. That compact, eerie premise has clearly connected with Indian audiences, giving the film strong repeat attention and an unusually muscular second week.

For Johnston and Navarrette, Obsession has become a breakout theatrical moment in India. Its current box office trajectory places it among the more surprising Hollywood performers of 2026 in the market, driven less by franchise noise and more by word of mouth, horror appeal and steady weekday traction.
