Ram Charan’s Peddi arrived with scale, star power and a full pan India push, but its Hindi version has not delivered the spark expected from a film of this size. The extended weekend has ended on a dull note, and the concern is sharper because the number came over four days rather than a regular three day frame.
The disappointment is also territory led. South dubbed films have often found traction in key Hindi belt pockets, especially Maharashtra, CP Berar and Gujarat, but Peddi did not break out there. Odisha was comparatively better, though the circuit was too small to shift the overall picture.
Peddi Hindi Box Office Stays Dull Over Extended Weekend
The Hindi version of Peddi opened with Rs 2.50 crore nett on Thursday, followed by a drop to Rs 1.65 crore nett on Friday. Saturday brought in Rs 2 crore nett, while Sunday rose to Rs 2.75 crore nett.
For a film mounted on this scale, the Hindi market needed to contribute far more strongly. The Telugu home market, especially Nizam and Andhra, has performed much better, while Mysore and Karnataka have also stayed comparatively stronger. Across India, the film is tracking in the Rs 140 crore to Rs 145 crore nett range over almost five days, which is a decent overall figure, but the Hindi contribution remains limited.

The issue for Peddi is not just the low Hindi turnout, but the absence of breakout momentum. Peddi is a Telugu sports action drama written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film stars Ram Charan in the title role, alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani. It is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, with Ishan Saksena attached as co producer under IVY Entertainment, and is presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.
The film was released worldwide on June 4, 2026, making it a current theatrical release as of June 8, 2026. Its premise is built around a rural sports backdrop, with Ram Charan playing a fierce local figure caught between pride, competition and personal stakes. A. R. Rahman has composed the music, while R. Rathnavelu handled cinematography.
For Ram Charan, Peddi followed Game Changer, the 2025 Shankar directorial that underperformed and later streamed on Amazon Prime Video. Before that, he was seen in Acharya in 2022 and made a cameo appearance in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan in 2023. His global visibility remains strongly tied to RRR, but Peddi now faces the immediate challenge of turning its southern strength into sustained all India returns.
