Ramayana Advance Booking Opens Big Before Diwali, Ranbir Kapoor Starrer Eyes 55,000 National Chain Tickets In 24 Hours

The Diwali box office race has found its early frontrunner, and Ramayana has come out charging. By 3 pm, the Ranbir Kapoor led epic had already sold 35,800 opening day tickets across the top national chains, with 30,000 tickets at PVR INOX and 5,800 at Cinepolis. The film is heading toward a first day national chain advance of 55,000 tickets, an excellent start for a festive event release.

Advance Booking Opens Strong

That early number stands out even more because the Hindi version has not yet fully contributed from the southern markets, which are expected to become an important part of the film’s overall pre release business. For a title mounted as one of the biggest Diwali event films of 2026, the first response from multiplex audiences has been emphatic.

The timing of the release gives the film a clear commercial advantage. Ramayana arrives in cinemas on November 5, 2026, a Thursday, giving it an early window before the festive rush peaks. That release plan also keeps the film in the spotlight through the week, with its October 27, 2026 premiere at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures adding to the pre release visibility and audience buzz ahead of the theatrical rollout.

Why The Early Pace Matters

Advance booking for tentpole spectacles is often driven by fan rush, premium screen demand and major city centres, and Ramayana is already ticking those boxes. Crossing 35,800 tickets by mid afternoon without full South India momentum has given the film a robust launchpad before the core holiday stretch begins.

The first day of pre sales has already delivered a major marker for the film’s theatrical pull. The pace at the national chains underlines strong initial demand, and the 55,000 ticket finish in the first 24 hours places Ramayana among the strongest early Diwali booking starts in the Hindi market this year.

Cast, Scale And Release Details

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is the first part of a planned two film adaptation of the Indian epic. Ranbir Kapoor stars as Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita and Yash takes on the role of Ravana. The cast also includes Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Kajal Aggarwal, Arun Govil and Lara Dutta.

Mounted as a mythological spectacle, the film is backed by Namit Malhotra and Yash, and produced by Monster Mind Creations, Prime Focus Studios and DNEG. The music lineup has added to the anticipation as well, with A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer attached to the film. For Ranbir Kapoor, whose last theatrical release Animal turned into a major box office success in 2023, Ramayana marks one of the biggest scale bets of his career.
