Ramayana Part One has opened with a thunderous Rs 68 crore nett in India on day one with 3D charges included, delivering one of the biggest starts of 2026. The Ranbir Kapoor and Yash-led mythological epic has drawn strong support across languages, with the South markets giving the film a major opening-day lift and turning its launch into a nationwide event.
The scale of the opening stands out not just for the total, but for how widely the film has performed across territories. The Hindi version has led the business nationally, while the dubbed versions have added substantial muscle, especially in markets where regional-language preference dominated even in key urban centres.
Day One Push Gets A Big South Boost
Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Ramayana Part One has collected about Rs 68 crore nett in India on its first day with 3D charges included. The Hindi version has contributed Rs 48 crore nett, while the South-dubbed versions have added Rs 17 crore nett, led by the Kannada version at Rs 8 crore nett.
Karnataka has emerged as the film’s best-performing territory outside the core Hindi belt. The film has pulled in nearly Rs 15 crore gross in the state including 3D charges, a huge result for an opening day and clear evidence of Yash’s pull in the market. The regional versions have also held a strong edge in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, where audience preference tilted decisively toward the dubbed releases.
The Hindi number looks more subdued outside the metros, largely because of the pre-Diwali release window. Ramayana Part One had registered a pre-sale of Rs 23.50 crore nett at the start of the day, but walk-in business in several Hindi circuits stayed limited, keeping the Hindi total below its full potential.
Film Details And Release Scale
Ramayana Part One is a 2026 Hindi-language mythological epic directed by Nitesh Tiwari and released in theatres on November 5, 2026. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in the lead, with a wider ensemble that includes Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Anupam Kher, Kajal Aggarwal and Lara Dutta.
Produced by Namit Malhotra, the film is mounted as the first chapter of a two-part saga. The story follows Lord Rama’s journey into exile and the growing conflict that sets up his battle with Ravana, with the first film focused on establishing that emotional and political world on a massive canvas.
Ranbir Kapoor’s Recent And Upcoming Work
This opening adds another major box office milestone to Ranbir Kapoor’s current career run. His last theatrical release, Animal in 2023, emerged as one of the biggest commercial successes of his career, and Ramayana Part One has now delivered another giant start on a completely different scale and genre. He also featured in The Bastards of Bollywood in 2025, while Ramayana Part Two is lined up as the next major chapter in this franchise.
