Sanam Teri Kasam, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, has made a grand comeback to theatres due to overwhelming demand. Nine years ago, few would have predicted that this romantic drama would achieve cult status among movie lovers. Starring Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane in their Hindi film debuts, the film has been drawing impressive crowds in its re-release, raking in strong box office numbers.
Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the film opened with a solid Rs 4.25 crore on Friday. Continuing its momentum, it collected Rs 5.25 crore on Saturday followed by 6 crore on Sunday, bringing its total earnings from the re-release to Rs 15.50 crore in just three days. Film held solid on Monday and collected 3.25 crore followed by 2.50 crore each on Tuesday and Wednesday. Film added 2.25 crore on Thursday.
Film had total of 26 crore net in week one. Film added 1.50 crore on 2nd Friday with solid hold followed by 2.25 crore on 2nd Saturday with decent jump. It will cross 30 crore net today. It has total of 29.75 crore net and it is heading for 40 crore plus lifetime which is a highest re release total ever.
The film was competing with Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa in theatres and has earned more than the combine total of both new Hindi releases.
The film has dominated Hindi markets for the seven consecutive day, even surpassing its original box office performance. When it first released in 2016, Sanam Teri Kasam earned Rs 8 crore in its lifetime run. However, the re-release has already exceeded that mark within just two days, thanks to its massive ticket sales.

He told SCREEN, “I hope it does what it didn’t do earlier, that’s it. Kya feel karoon main? Everyone was asking me everywhere to bring this film back. The only anecdote I remember is that we all were expecting this film to do much better than what it did. That void has pushed me today to request everyone to release this. Nau saal hogaye hain (It has been nine years), every year they keep losing faith, but my faith keeps increasing. When it didn’t perform well, we all (the producers, director, actors) felt that pain, a tug in the heart”.
