Spider-Man Brand New Day Storms Past Rs 351.40 Crore In India, Posts Rare Second-Friday Jump

Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has tightened its grip on the Indian box office with the kind of second-week hold that turns a big opener into a genuine long-run blockbuster. After a massive first week, the Tom Holland starrer added Rs 15.40 crore on its second Friday, pushing its India nett total across all versions to Rs 351.40 crore. The bigger headline inside that number is the trend itself, because Friday edged past Thursday’s Rs 15 crore, a rare and highly encouraging jump at this stage of a theatrical run.

Second Friday Jump Signals Another Big Weekend

The film’s India run has unfolded with striking consistency. It opened with Rs 61 crore on Thursday, dipped to Rs 48.30 crore on Friday, then surged over the weekend with Rs 70.80 crore on Saturday and Rs 77.50 crore on Sunday. The weekdays stayed impressively strong at Rs 23.30 crore on Monday, Rs 21.80 crore on Tuesday and Rs 18.30 crore on Wednesday before easing to Rs 15 crore on Thursday, taking the first-week total to Rs 336 crore. Now, with Rs 15.40 crore on second Friday, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has delivered the sort of hold exhibitors look for when a film is preparing for another packed weekend.

That India trend comes alongside a huge international start. The film debuted to $927 million worldwide, including $572 million from international markets. Industry analyst Paul Dergarabedian said, “The one thing everyone wants to know when these giant opening weekends happen is: Are people going to keep coming?” That question is now being answered quite emphatically in India, where the second-Friday bump suggests the film is drawing repeat audiences while also holding family and premium format footfalls.

Tom Holland Leads A Spider-Man Film Built For The Big Screen

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. It was released in theatres on July 31, 2026, from Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios and Pascal Pictures.

The film follows Peter Parker in a world that no longer remembers him, leaving him to navigate crime-fighting and personal loss without the safety net he once had. That reset has clearly connected with audiences. More importantly for the India market, the second-Friday rise changes the conversation from a front-loaded superhero opening to a film with serious legs. If Saturday and Sunday build from here, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will not just be racing toward its next milestone, it will be strengthening its case for an exceptional lifetime finish in India.
