Spider-Man Brand New Day Targets Rs 45 Crore Day One In India As Tom Holland Film Sells 1.55 Lakh Advance Tickets

India’s box office is already rolling out the red carpet for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. With eight days still left before release, the Tom Holland starrer has sold a striking 1.55 lakh opening-day tickets across PVR Inox and Cinepolis, a surge that instantly places the Marvel tentpole among the hottest Hollywood openers in the market this year.

The advance booking split shows just how broad the demand already is. Of the 1.55 lakh tickets sold by 3 PM on July 22, around 1.28 lakh came from PVR Inox, while Cinepolis accounted for another 27,000 admissions. For a franchise title that still has room to build through the final week, that is a serious early statement.

A Rs 45 Crore Opening Day Is Now In Sight

On present trends, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is targeting an opening day of around Rs 45 crore nett in India. That number reflects not just fan anticipation, but also the kind of premium-format pull that traditionally powers superhero spectacles in their final booking stretch. The early pace has already put the film in prime position for a major first-day haul.

That projection becomes even more interesting when placed against the franchise’s recent India benchmark. Spider-Man: No Way Home sold 5.5 lakh tickets in national chains in 2021 and went on to gross about Rs 265 crore in India, underlining how deeply the character connects with local audiences. This new chapter arrives in a far healthier theatrical market, which gives its current pre-sales momentum even more weight.

Marvel’s official synopsis says, “Alone and crime-fighting in a New York City that no longer knows his name, Peter Parker has devoted himself to being a full-time Spider-Man. But as the pressure on Spider-Man intensifies, Peter undergoes a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence.” The line positions the film as both a continuation and a fresh launch for Holland’s Peter Parker.

Why The India Opening Looks So Strong

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland and releases in theatres on July 31, 2026. The film is backed by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, and its premise leans into a more isolated Peter Parker after the world-changing events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

For India, the excitement is being driven by more than franchise recall alone. The Spider-Man films have consistently played like event cinema here, and Brand New Day is benefiting from that legacy at a time when Hollywood titles are once again finding strong theatrical traction. Premium screens, urban multiplex audiences, and the character’s cross-generational popularity are all working in its favour.

The timing helps too. A late-July release gives the film a clean runway to convert superhero fandom into a broad opening weekend turnout. With 1.55 lakh tickets already sold in the top national chains, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is heading into its final advance-booking stretch with clear blockbuster momentum in India.
