Last release of the year or one can say of this decade has hit the theatre. Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Diljit and Kiara Advani starrer Dharma Production’s latest offering ‘Good NEWWS’ opened to good reviews.
Film released in 1800 cinemas/3100 screens all over country and bad performance of big release of last week has given this film golden opportunity. Film opened to 25-30% occupancy and that increased gradually by the day rising in good word of mouth.
Obviously due to genre and urban feel opening is not as high as other Akshay starrer ‘Kesari’ or ‘Housefull 4’ but still film managed good day one number followed by decent jump on day two.
Film collected 17.56 cr nett on day one which was good platform for growth over weekend. Film jumped by 23% and collected 21.78 cr nett on Saturday. Film grew on Sunday and collected 25.65 cr nett. Growth was limited over the weekend but with holidays ahead, its heading for Hit status.
Film has weekend total of 64.99 cr nett. Film has super strong hind on Monday and collected 13.41 cr nett which is 22% drop from Friday. Film collected strong 16.20 cr nett on Tuesday followed by fantastic new year holiday growth on Wednesday with figure of 22.50 cr nett. Film held up pretty well and added 10.80 cr nett on Thursday.
Film has 1st week total of 127.90 cr nett and it should cross 165 cr nett lifetime minimum from here considering little competition in 2nd week though strong trending can take it close to 200 cr mark.
Film was super strong on 8th day and collected 8.10 cr nett as all new releases were poor. Film jumped on 2nd Saturday and collected 11.70 cr nett. Film collected 14.40 cr nett on Sunday.
Film collected 34.20 cr nett in 2nd Weekend Film was solid on 2nd Monday and collected 5.40 cr nett followed by equally strong 5.04 cr nett. Film added 4.77 cr nett on Wednesday and 4.05 cr nett.
Film collected 53.46 cr nett in 2nd week. Film has 2-week collection of 181.36 cr nett. Film added 2.07 cr nett on 3rd Friday followed by 3.06 cr nett. Film has 16- day total of 186.49 cr nett. It should cross 200 cr nett lifetime.
