John Abraham starrer The Diplomat arrived in cinemas on March 14, 2025. Shivam Nair directed this political thriller, which dives into India–Pakistan relations and high-stakes diplomacy. Despite releasing on Holi, the film had a slow start at the box office.
The Diplomat Fails To Jump Big With A Challenging First Weekend Ahead
The Diplomat collected Rs 4.03 crore on its first day, performing slightly better than the predicted Rs 2 crore. However, Saturday hasn’t brought much improvement as film grew by only 15%. Film managed to collect 4.68 crore net on day two. Film has total of 8.71 crore net and will cross 13 crore over weekend which is below par.
Even with the weekend advantage, the film is struggling to gain momentum. Strong word-of-mouth will be crucial for its growth in the coming days.
The film isn’t just dealing with audience hesitation but also facing tough competition. Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava remains a box office giant and has crossed Rs 500 crore in its fifth week.
