Rahi Anil Barve’s directed Tumbbad which stars Sohum Shah and Mohammad Samad re-released in the theatres last Friday. The film was released back in 2018, at that time, the film could not get much attention, hardly earning the budget of the film with 12.50 crore net lifetime collections. The film soon after its release in OTT became a cult classic and gained a lot of appreciation. The film received a huge response after its release again.
Tumbbad Set To Score Solid 2nd Week After 8.13 Crore 2nd Weekend
Film was expected to jump big on National Cinema day with ₹ 99 priced ticket. Film collected 3.04 crore net on 2nd Friday and added 2.50 crore net on 2nd Saturday followed by 2.59 crore on 2nd Sunday.
Tumbbad has total of 21.57 crore net in 10 days and set to cross minimum 28 – 30 crore lifetime from here.
Tumbbad Crosses Lifetime Total Of Original Release In One Week Of Re Release
Tumbbad, though, has already proved its worth among the audience as a genius film. It received a lot of accolades from the critics and also received multiple awards. Its fan following has been huge in the past years and the film also comes with the nostalgic touch which can bring audiences to the theatres. Considering the current scene with the re-released movies, Tumbbad expected a very good return from the audience and that’s what happened.
Film collected 1.65 crore net on day one which is way higher than its opening day of 65 lacs net when it was released first in 2018. Film jumped by 50% on day two and collected 2.65 crore net. Film added 3.04 crore net on day 3.
Film collected 1.69 crore net on Monday day 4 followed by 1.66 crore on Tuesday day 5, 1.42 crore on Wednesday day 6 and 1.33 crore on Thursday day 7. Film collected higher numbers on day 4 & day 5 than day 1.
Film had total of 13.44 crore net in week one itself which is higher than its lifetime number in initial release 6 years back. This is massive achievement and film is certain to trend well for couple of weeks.
