Venom: The Last Dance Advance Bookings Spark Hope Amid Pre-Diwali Drought, To Outperform Jigra & VVKWWV In Opening Weekend

Venom: The Last Dance is generating strong advance ticket sales. This has sparked hope for box office success in a tough October, where films like Joker 2, Jigra & VVKWWV have struggled.

Venom: The Last Dance is set to bring excitement to a tough October for the film industry. This month has seen major releases like Joker: Folie à Deux underperform after a promising start.

Other films, such as Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Jigra, also disappointed at the box office. With Diwali releases arriving, the market has been slow, making exhibitors anxious. However, Venom: The Last Dance is generating hope with strong advance ticket sales.

The film will be released on October 25, just one week before Diwali. This week is usually quiet for cinemas, but Venom looks set to change that. It will have paid previews on Thursday, with multiplexes gearing up for high demand.

Venom: The Last Dance Advance Booking Report

Metro Inox in Mumbai and Cinepolis Seawoods, in Navi Mumbai, are showing nine previews each. Inox Megaplex in Malad will host ten shows, and Cinepolis at Viviana Mall, Thane, is leading with 13 shows. This trend of high show numbers is also seen in other cities, indicating strong interest.

As of October 23, Venom: The Last Dance has sold 40,626 tickets for its opening weekend across PVR Inox cinemas. Ticket sales are climbing fast, with almost 14,000 sold by the previous day.

If this pace continues, the film could earn around Rs 4 crores on its opening day. This would make it one of the biggest paid previews in recent years, competing with hits like Stree 2 and Chennai Express.

The excitement surrounding Venom may lead to an extended weekend collection of nearly Rs 20 crores. This would surpass the opening weekend numbers of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video (Rs 19.17 crores) and Jigra (Rs 16.64 crores).

Will The Film Be Able To Beat The Opening Figures Of Previous Instalments?

A trade expert noted, “The second part of the series, Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), opened at Rs 2.88 crores despite being released during Covid restrictions. This shows the character’s strong following.”

The first Venom film, released in 2018, had an opening of Rs 4.09 crores and went on to earn Rs 34.31 crores in total. It remains to be seen if Venom: The Last Dance can beat these figures.

Its success will depend on how well it performs before the Diwali releases of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 on November 1. After those films come out, Venom may lose its screens and shows in multiplexes, impacting its second-week collections.

Despite these challenges, Venom: The Last Dance offers hope to cinema owners who have faced difficulties in the past two months.

Its performance could challenge the idea that the pre-Diwali week is a dead zone for films. Two years ago, Black Adam released just five days before Diwali and opened at Rs 6.80 crores, ultimately earning Rs 48.13 crores.

If Venom maintains its momentum, it might inspire more filmmakers to consider pre-Diwali releases in the future.
