Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava is preparing for a big box-office debut. The film is set to release on February 14 and has already earned over Rs 5 crore in advance bookings, which shows the strong excitement of the audience. Makers have sold 2 lakh tickets across India in just 48 hrs.
Chhaava Sells 2 Lakh Tickets In Pre-Sales Within 48 Hrs
According to reports, the advance sales witnessed huge growth on Monday. The Hindi 2D version alone made Rs 4.06 crore, while IMAX 2D, 4DX, and ICE formats added Rs 12.53 lakh, Rs 4.08 lakh and Rs 1.53 lakh, respectively.
The total earnings from ticket sales now stand at Rs 4.25 crore, with blocked seats increasing the total to Rs 5.41 crore. More than 2 lakh tickets have already been booked for 6,540 shows across India, setting up a strong opening.
Vicky Kaushal & Rashmika Mandanna Recently Visited The Golden Temple
As part of the promotions, Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Vicky shared his feelings on Instagram and wrote, “There’s something about #SriHarmandirSahib! The peace, the divinity, the power of prayer. As we bring #Chhaava to the world, I hope it reflects even a fraction of the strength and devotion this sacred place inspires. Rabb meher bakshe. Satnam Waheguru.”
Earlier, Vicky also visited Shri Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to seek blessings for the film’s release. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava stars Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai. The movie is inspired by Shivaji Sawant’s well-known Marathi novel Chhava.
Judging from the pre-sales, Chhaava is expected to create a strong impact at the box office when it releases. However, it will compete with Hollywood’s Captain America: Brave New World. With high pre-release buzz and strong ticket sales, Chhaava is heading towards a strong opening.
