Welcome To The Jungle Set For Solid Start At Box Office As Advance Booking Crosses 18,000 Tickets In National Chains

Just when Welcome To The Jungle risked heading into release with muted pre-release chatter, the film has pulled off the kind of late booking jump that can reshape an opening-day narrative. Akshay Kumar’s franchise comedy has now crossed 18,000 tickets in the top national chains, turning what looked like a soft advance trend into a far more encouraging box office story.

That late push matters because films in this genre often depend heavily on final-day decisions from family audiences and fans of familiar brands. With the Welcome title carrying recall value and a crowded ensemble built for mass appeal, the fresh jump in sales has given the film a stronger launchpad at exactly the right time.

Advance Booking Picks Up Pace

As of 10:00 PM on June 24, Welcome To The Jungle had sold around 15,000 tickets in PVR Inox and Cinepolis for its opening day, including Thursday previews. With momentum building after that point, the count has now moved beyond 18,000 tickets in the top national chains, placing the film in a better position going into release.

An entertainment trade report tracking the film’s national chain performance had earlier described the initial response as “somewhat underwhelming.” The same trade assessment added, “The film has a huge IP value, but the promos didn’t make use of that. It is also looking like a spoof film rather than a family entertainer, which is limiting its appeal.” The rise in bookings since then suggests that audience interest has picked up closer to showtime, which is often where broad comedies find their footing.

A Muharram holiday boost could also strengthen the film’s same-day business, especially if family audiences begin opting in once the release energy peaks. For a film banking on familiarity, cast pull and franchise recall, that last-leg support becomes a major factor in converting decent advances into a healthier first-day number.

Opening Day Stakes Get Bigger

The importance of this surge lies in what it does for the film’s immediate theatrical outlook. Crossing 18,000 tickets has helped Welcome To The Jungle avoid entering cinemas under a cloud of weak pre-release perception, and that alone can influence exhibitor confidence, show occupancy and last-minute audience decisions.

It also gives the film a more workable base for the weekend. Comedies with ensemble appeal often build through word of mouth once audiences respond to the theatrical experience, and a steadier opening day can create room for stronger traction across Saturday and Sunday. That makes the final booking curve especially important here, not just as a pre-sales figure, but as a sign that the film still has the ability to draw attention before opening.

Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, Welcome To The Jungle is the latest installment in the popular comedy franchise. The action comedy follows a chaotic jungle-set mission packed with confusion, criminals and survival-driven mayhem, with Akshay Kumar leading a large ensemble cast.
