Welcome To The Jungle Collects Rs 95.21 Crore In India In 8 Days As Tier 2 And Tier 3 Centres Power Its Box Office Run

Not every big commercial comedy behaves the way the trade predicts, and Welcome To The Jungle has become the latest reminder. The Akshay Kumar-led entertainer has closed its first extended week with ₹95.21 crore net in India, turning what many saw as a routine release into a genuinely strong early theatrical performer.

What makes the total stand out is where the film has clicked hardest. While the Hindi belt has contributed handsomely, the strongest push has come from Tier 2 and Tier 3 centres, giving the film a box office profile that looks broader and more resilient than many pre-release estimates suggested. Its worldwide gross stands at ₹137.39 crore.

Tier 2 And Tier 3 Centres Give Wttj Its Surprise Edge

WTTJ closes Week 1 with an impressive total, proving most pre-release estimations and projections wrong. The film scored exceptionally well across Tier 2 and Tier 3 centres, and these markets are expected to continue driving its business in Week 2. While the Hindi belt performed very well, Mumbai witnessed a noticeable dip due to the torrential rains on Wednesday and Thursday, which impacted footfalls.

Those numbers reflect a powerful weekend climb followed by steady weekday business, allowing Welcome To The Jungle to finish Day 8 just short of the ₹100 crore mark in India.

New Releases Raise The Stakes For Wttj In Week 2

The next phase of Welcome To The Jungle now carries far more weight than its first week alone. As Adarsh noted, “#WTTJ now faces a new test… #Alpha hits screens today, while #Dhamaal4 arrives next Friday… Its lifetime business will largely depend on how well it holds up against the new releases.”

That makes the second weekend the defining stretch of its run. The film now needs to convert its strong base in non-metro markets into sustained collections as the theatrical landscape gets more crowded over the coming days.

Welcome Franchise Familiarity Is Working In The Film’S Favour

Welcome To The Jungle is a Hindi comedy entertainer from the long-running Welcome franchise, headlined by Akshay Kumar and mounted as a large ensemble film. It is directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwalla.

The film’s appeal is rooted in the very things that traditionally travel well beyond the metros: familiar franchise branding, a packed ensemble, broad humour, and high-energy comic confusion designed for collective viewing. That mix appears to be connecting strongly in smaller centres, where recognisable characters and unapologetically loud comedy often translate into repeat-friendly box office traction.
