2019 and 2020 have been a year of amazing digital show and films. Released in September 2019 on Amazon Prime Videos The Family Man, which was a big hit. Starring Manoj Bajpayee, Priyamani and Sharib Hashmi, the show ended on a hight and since then viewers are waiting for the second session of the show. Recently it was reported that the much-awaited show will stream soon on the OTT platform. If things went as planned then it would have been released in February 2021. However, it got delayed and as per Amazon Prime, it’ll be out in summer 2021.
Yesterday a piece of news circulated all over the internet that Amazon Prime has cancelled season 2 of The Family Man. This news shocked the fans and people started posting reactions on social media handle. However, in two hours after this news was published, director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, aka Raj and DK, tweeted, in reply to this news, with just two letters – ‘BS’ (bullsh*t). This is cleared that they were slamming this news article, this relaxed the fans.
A source was quoted as saying, “What Raj and DK tweeted is right. There’s no way the season is getting cancelled. We were quite shocked when this report came in. There’s no truth to it at all.”
There were reports the makers of The Family Man 2 has delayed the session fearing controversy. It was reported by certain media that Amazon Prime is going through the series minutely and removing all ‘objectionable’ stuff. Some also claim that the series is getting reshot.
However, according to the source, “Nothing in the show is getting reshot. Raj and DK have already moved on to their next web series, starring Shahid Kapoor. And no, Amazon Prime is not even censoring anything. There’s nothing in the show that needs to be removed.”
The source continues, “The OTT guidelines are now in place and to put it into motion, Amazon Prime is taking time. It’s the new rule and to follow it, Amazon has taken the time and hence, it has decided to delay the second instalment. That’s all.”
As per the reports, the show can be expected to release in the Summer between May or June 2021.
