Weekend watchlist: Check out these new OTT releases to binge this weekend!

A long weekend provides the opportunity to catch up on as many shows and movies as possible. So, in honour of Holi, the Hindu festival that commemorates the triumph of good over evil, here’s a list of some ‘colourful’ and highly awaited OTT releases to watch:

After seeing Vidya Balan’s brilliance in Sherni (2022) and Shefali Shah’s in Delhi Crime (2019), Jalsa is unquestionably one of the most anticipated films of the year. The plot centres around Ruksana’s (Shefali) daughter’s hit-and-run case. Ruksana works as a maid at Maya’s (Vidya) house and looks after her cerebral palsy-affected son. Maya is a journalist who has information about the case but is unable to expose it.

Directed by Suresh Triveni, the film also stars Surya Kasibhatla, a 10-year-old Indian origin boy from Texas who has cerebral palsy. He essays the role of Maya’s son.

Bloody Brothers:

Shaad Ali directed the series, which features Jaideep Ahlawat, Zeeshan Ayyub, Tina Desai, and Shruti Sheth in key roles. Jaggi (Jaideep) and Daljeet (Zeeshan) are two brothers who accidentally run over an elderly man one night. They try to conceal the body and cover up the crime, but the surrounding community begins to suspect foul play. The 6-part series, based on a Scottish television series, explores many layers of trust, fear, and morality.

Dulquer Salman and Diana Penty star in the film, which is directed by Rosshan Andrews. Sub Inspector Aravind Karunakaran (Salman) is part of a fabricated inquiry on an innocent man named Murali. The film aims to deconstruct the ‘heroic’ cop narrative and expose the nasty and unethical side of the profession. Aravind tries to reopen the case and bring Murali justice as he feels he was wrongfully imprisoned.

Windfall has been packed with crime, drama, and thriller. In the film, Jason Segel and Jesse Plemons will be seen entertaining viewers in the lead roles. The story unfolds a story of a man who breaks into a tech billionaire’s empty vacation home.
