120 Bahadur Box Office Collection: Farhan Akhtar’s War Drama Struggles With Just Rs 15 Crore In Week 1, Continues Actor’s Flop Streak Since 2013

Get ready for another box office disappointment from Farhan Akhtar. The actor’s war drama 120 Bahadur has crashed at the ticket counters, collecting a dismal Rs 15 crore in its first week. The film recorded its lowest earning day on Thursday with just Rs 90 lakhs, continuing the actor’s painful flop streak that has lasted over a decade.

120 Bahadur fell short of the Rs 1 crore mark on day 7, marking a worrying decline from Wednesday’s Rs 1.1 crore. The war drama now faces tough competition from new releases hitting theatres this weekend, making its box office future look even bleaker.

Another Disaster In Farhan’s Flop Streak

This is now the seventh consecutive disaster for Farhan Akhtar at the box office. His last six films have all bombed spectacularly. The Sky Is Pink, Lucknow Central, The Fakir of Venice, Daddy, and Rock On 2 all failed to attract audiences. The actor’s last hit was Bhaag Milkha Bhaag way back in 2013, which crossed Rs 100 crore and won him massive critical acclaim.

For over 12 years now, Farhan has struggled to replicate that success. Despite choosing diverse roles and working with talented filmmakers, nothing seems to be working in his favour. 120 Bahadur was expected to break this jinx, but it has only added to his growing list of failures.

The Numbers Tell A Worrying Story

120 Bahadur opened on November 21, 2025 with paid previews held three days earlier on November 18 to mark the 63rd anniversary of the Battle of Rezang La. Despite this unique strategy, the film failed to generate excitement among moviegoers. The first week collection of just Rs 15 crore is shockingly low for a film starring a big name like Farhan Akhtar.

The daily collections have shown a steady downward trend. After a lukewarm opening weekend, the film witnessed a significant drop on weekdays. Thursday’s Rs 90 lakh collection is the lowest single day earning, indicating that word of mouth has not worked at all. Trade analysts believe the film will struggle to cross even Rs 20 crore in its lifetime run.

What Went Wrong For This War Drama

120 Bahadur had everything going for it on paper. The film is based on the heroic Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Sino-Indian War, where 120 brave soldiers fought against thousands of Chinese troops. Farhan Akhtar plays Major Shaitan Singh, a real life war hero who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously. The patriotic theme and powerful subject matter should have attracted audiences.

However, the film failed to create any buzz before its release. The marketing was reportedly weak, and the trailer did not generate enough excitement. Some industry insiders suggest that the film’s serious tone and heavy subject matter may have kept family audiences away. With new releases arriving in theatres, 120 Bahadur is expected to vanish from cinemas very soon.
