Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur To Deliver A Heart-Wrenching War Saga; Actor Ankit Siwach Shares Emotional First Take

Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur is shaping up to be an emotionally charged war epic, capturing the untold courage of Rezang La’s heroes. Co-star Ankit Siwach calls it a “heart-wrenching” story that the nation needed to see.

With Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh (PVC), 120 Bahadur is becoming one of the highest anticipated war films of 2025. Produced by Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios (Amit Chandrra), the film follows the real-life tale of the 13 Kumaon Regiment during the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Indo-China War.

Actor Ankit Siwach, who stars in the film alongside Farhan, recently broke his silence on the film in an interview, describing it as “heart-wrenching”.

“It is very special. That’s all I can say right now. The story was waiting to be told in this way.” He also stated that the film is expected to release in November 2025.

The film pays tribute to Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, a man enshrined in Indian military history for his impact at Rezang La, where 120 soldiers in his company held positions against more than a thousand Chinese soldiers. Even faced with overwhelming odds, the men of Charlie Company continued their defence until they breathed their last.

Farhan announced the news of the film on Instagram before:

“What they achieved will not be forgotten. What an amazing privilege to be able to present to you the story of Maj. Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC) and the soldiers of Charlie Company.”

The Battle of Rezang La – A Bravery that Reverberates 60 Years Later

Labelled as one of the most heroic last stands in Indian military history, the battle in Rezang La of Ladakh became legendary for its unyielding spirit. Singh was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra (PVC), and this film aims to capture all of the emotion of his valour and sacrifice.

120 Bahadur is a tribute to the exact number of soldiers that stood their ground that horrific day in 1962.

BoxOfficeWorldwide Verdict

With a story dripping in sacrifice and support from premier banners, 120 Bahadur sounds like a national sobber already. Farhan Akhtar’s return to the front lines—this time in uniform—is more than the portrayal and role of Maj. Shaitan Singh Bhati. It is a salute to the best of India wrapped in guts and glory and heart.
