The iconic film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, completed 22 years of its release today on Thursday, December 14. The film, directed by Karan Johar and produced by Yash Johar, was a blockbuster hit that showcased the emotional bond of a family.
On this occasion, Kajol and Karan Johar took to their social media handles to share their memories and nostalgia associated with the film.
Kajol shares memories from K3G on 22nd anniversary
Kajol took to her Instagram handle and shared a video collated with iconic pictures from the film as she revisited the memories. She captioned the post, “22 years to #k3g .. Another acronym but yes another long lasting memory !!!”
She continued, “Yash uncle actually renovated and made new makeup rooms in Filmistan studios permanently just for the shooting of this film because even with the vanity vans it was not going to be enough for this gigantic starrer! @karanjohar collapsed and fainted on set because of dehydration in the first few days .. it was really really hot! And this was @___aryan___ ‘s debut on screen.. !”
Adding further, she wrote, “It was also I think my first comeback ( not sure about this part tho ) too many comebacks ago ) And the first and only time I stood in front of the pyramids and truly felt them with my soul.. so yes this was a truly HUGE film in every which way , in life and cinema !”
Kajol was referring to SRK’s son Aryan Khan, who played the younger version of Shah Rukh Khan’s character Rahul in the film. It was Aryan’s first and only appearance as a child actor, before he went on to pursue his education and entrepreneurship. Aryan recently made headlines for his involvement in a drug case, from which he was cleared of all charges in May 2022.

Karan Johar also shared an emotional scene from the film, along with a heartfelt note that read, “My annual reminder of “It’s all about loving your family”…and my audience who have kept the spirit of #K3G alive even 22 years later. Eternally grateful to magnificent & magnanimous cast – Amit ji, Jaya ji, shahrukh bhai, kajol, duggu and bebo and all other special people in the cast and crew for just making this journey the most memorable one!
