About The Film
Manthan (Churning in English) tells the story of India’s White Revolution. It follows the journey of a young vet, played by Girish Karnad, who helps rural farmers form a cooperative to challenge unfair practices.
The film symbolises empowerment, as 500,000 Gujarat farmers donated Rs 2 each to help fund it. This collective effort made Manthan a significant cultural and historical work.
