In February of this year, news circulated that discussions were underway between Salman Khan and Aamir Khan regarding the Hindi remake of the Spanish film Campeones. Aamir had reportedly approached Salman to play the lead role in the Indian adaptation titled Champions. Fans eagerly awaited an official announcement, which was anticipated to be made in March. Unfortunately, there have been no significant updates on the project since then. However, recent reports indicate that Salman Khan has decided to withdraw from the remake, prompting Aamir Khan to approach Ranbir Kapoor as a potential replacement for the film.
According to an industry source, Salman Khan had expressed a strong desire to be a part of the Hindi remake of Campeones. Initially, everything seemed to be progressing smoothly, and Salman showed a keen interest in the project. The final narration was scheduled to take place before commencing work on the film in June. However, after the narration, Salman realized that there would be a scheduling conflict with another one of his ventures. Consequently, he made the difficult decision to step back from the sports drama directed by RS Prasanna.
Ranbir Kapoor Steps In For Aamir Khan Production
Despite Salman Khan’s exit from the project, Aamir Khan’s film Champions is now looking at a potential silver lining. Aamir has approached Ranbir Kapoor to step into the lead role, and industry insiders believe it could be a refreshing change for the actor. Ranbir, known for his diverse film choices and impressive acting skills, has expressed keen interest in the sports drama. The film, an official adaptation of the Spanish movie Campeones, is helmed by director RS Prasanna and backed by Aamir Khan Productions (AKP). While the expected release is slated for 2024, the exact timeline will be determined once all the necessary paperwork is completed.
