Aamir Khan Reacts As Jasprit Bumrah Mocks Laal Singh Chaddha’s Box Office Failure In Latest Ad

A new advertisement for the fantasy sports platform Dream11, featuring Aamir Khan and Jasprit Bumrah, is attracting interest online for the actor’s seemingly sporting gesture to allow his latest film, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ to be mocked. The epic drama received mixed reviews and tanked at the box office last year.

Following its failure, Aamir announced his decision to take some time off and regroup. His participation in the Dream11 campaign, timed to coincide with the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, is basically his first on screen appearance since Laal Singh Chaddha’s release.

In the 15-second ad, Aamir tells Bumrah, “Boom Boom, ball dhyan se daaliyo, bade bade hit maarta hoon (Boom Boom, ball carefully, I hit big).” Bumrah shoots back, “Itne hits maarte ho sir, toh Laal Singh ka kya hua (If you’re such a big-hitter, what happened to Laal Singh)?” Aamir gives him a look, and challenges him to a face-off on the field.

Fans took to the comments section to react to the ad. While most people praised Aamir for taking the hit, others joked about Bumrah’s recent form. “Fun Fact: Jasprit Bumrah and Aamir Khan have played same number of matches for India in last 7 months,” one person commented. “Woh field pe nahi dikhega Aamir sir,” another person commented.

Directed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha was the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood hit Forrest Gump. The film was produced on a budget of Rs 180 crore, but could hardly earn Rs 130 crore at the worldwide box office. Criticism was mostly directed at Aamir’s performance, although the film was received more favourably after it debuted on streaming.
