The clock is ticking! Aamir Khan — the perfectionist with a purpose — is back on the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, and the trailer is officially dropping next week! In a well-planned but synergistic move, the trailer will also play with the theatrical run of Raid 2, which gets released in theatres on May 1, 2025.
A Spiritual Sequel With Simple Role Reversals
Directed by R.S. Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par is being described as a spiritual successor to the emotionally landmark Taare Zameen Par. But nothing will be similar — this will be a completely different story with the most reversed roles.
Adapted from the Spanish film Champions (2018), Aamir Khan plays a different and alcoholic coach training a team of specially abled kids for the Paralympics. Unlike Taare Zameen Par, where Aamir’s character was the guiding force, in this story, the children will change him — emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
“It’s a happier film… and way ahead of Taare Zameen Par,” Aamir indicated in previous interviews.
The trailer is UA certified and is 3 minutes and 29 seconds long, and sources say it has a slightly heartfelt drama with warm, witty, and comedic moments — the Aamir Khan feel.
Why Raid 2 Is the Ultimate Launchpad
By attaching the trailer to Raid 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh, the producers are able to ensure the most reach across multiplex chains and tier-2 city audiences. This coupling may prove to be the diamond — for each film deals with a very different genre — making the Sitaare Zameen Par trailer a contrasting spectacle that draws intrigue.
Also, it’s fair to assume that Raid 2 is already buzzing, and this surprise double drop will only elevate the bloodlust and buzz.
