Aamir Khan, who last appeared in Laal Singh Chaddha, is set to shoot for his next upcoming movie helmed by RS Prasanna who had directed Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. It’s another remake for Aamir as his previous one was an adaptation of the American film Forrest Gump.
Reports suggest that Anushka Sharma has been requested to play the female lead. The makers have started pre-production on the project and have reportedly lay-out a six-month schedule for the shoot. It will be produced by Sony Pictures India. The makers are engaged with location scouting, casting and deciding other elements of it.
Aamir plays a stubborn and hot-headed minor league basketball coach who is placed on community service and subjugated to coach a Special Olympics team, whose players have different learning disabilities.
Campeones refers to Champions, a sports comedy-drama positioned against the backdrop of basketball. The Spanish film directed by Javier Fesser starred Jose de Luna, Javier Gutierrez, Gloria Ramos, Roberto Chinchilla, Athenea Mata, Luisa Gavasa, Mariano Llorente, Daniel Freire, and Juan Margallo.
