Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh Spreads Awareness On Epilepsy, Shares Her Own Struggle Of Life

Fatima responded to a question on how she manages her epilepsy by saying she has a "nice support system."

Being a public figure and discussing living with a condition that is sometimes stigmatised around the globe requires a lot of strength. Fatima Sana Shaikh, however, wants to increase public awareness of epilepsy. Given that April is Epilepsy Awareness Month, the star used Instagram to raise awareness of the condition and to share her experiences so far with her 3.1 million followers.

The “Dangal” actor spoke with her fans during a “ask me anything” session. Fatima responded to a question on how she manages her epilepsy by saying she has a “nice support system” made up of her family, friends, and pet, and that “some days are good” but “other days are not so great.”

For those who are unaware, epilepsy is a neurological condition affecting the central nervous system that frequently results in seizures or periods of “strange behaviour,” as well as feelings and consciousness loss. Epilepsy is one of the most prevalent neurological diseases worldwide, with an estimated 50 million individuals suffering from it, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Fatima,  responded to a question from one of her fans by writing, ” was diagnosed while I was training for Dangal. I had an episode and immediately went to the hospital to recover. For the first five years, I was in denial. I’ve since learned to accept it, work with it, and live with it.

Likewise she responded to various sets of questions and on workfront, Fatima was last seen in the Anil Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor starrer Thar. She is currently working on Dhak Dhak where her role is of biker, and Sam Bahadur where she will be portraying the role of Indira Gandhi.
