Aditya Roy Kapur Had Payment Issues With Makers Of Gumraah, Read Details Inside

‘Gumraah’ released this Friday and film bombed at box office. It hardly managed to earn 3.50 cr nett over weekend and lifetime total of 6 cr nett is on the cards. However we hear that in addition to horrible box office numbers, it wasn’t a smooth journey for lead actor Aditya Roy Kapur with makers.

Apparently, the actor had to kick up a fuss to receive his dues for the film. Sources claim that a few weeks ago, producer Murad Khetani kept dilly-dallying when Aditya asked for his pending remuneration. Not pleased about being taken for granted, the actor is said to have conveyed his displeasure to Bhushan Kumar, whose company T-Series acquired the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit, ‘Thadam’. Understanding and addressing his lead actor’s predicament, Kumar ensured that finances were cleared just a few weeks before the release, so Aditya wasn’t inconvenienced any further.

Murad Khetani produced blockbusters like ‘Bhool Bhullaiya 2’ and ‘Kabir Singh’ with Bhushan Kumar’s T Series. Before that he also produced films like ‘The Shaukeens’, ‘Notebook’ and ‘Satellite Shankar’.

Box Office Performance Of Gumraah

Today Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur starrer ‘Gumraah’ released in cinemas. Film is remake of 2019 south film ‘Thadam’ and produced by Murad Khetani’s Cine1 and Bhushan Kumar’s T Series. Film also has Vedika Pinto in brief role. It’s first double role appearance for Aditya Roy Kapur.

As expected, film opened to dull response though reviews were not bad. Due to flop music and average casting, film opened to poor numbers. Film collected 1.10 cr nett on day one which is poor number considering Good Friday holiday.

Film struggled today as it managed only 7-10% growth despite almost no competition at box office. Film should collect around 1.20-1.25 cr nett on day two. Film has 2 – day total of 2.25 – 2.35 cr nett and that means total washout at box office.
