A brand-new pairing, a darker love story, and a filmmaker returning to high-voltage romance have just given Bhushan Kumar’s next production a sharper pulse. Tara Sutaria is now officially set to star opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in Milap Milan Zaveri’s untitled musical romance, a film being billed as raw, violent and deeply passionate, and one that brings together two actors audiences have not seen share screen space before.
Tara Sutaria Joins The Film As Female Lead
The announcement confirms Tara as the female lead opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in the upcoming T-Series-backed project. Produced by Bhushan Kumar and directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, with Shiv Chanana as co-producer, the film is headed for a theatrical release in 2027 after going on floors later in 2026.
At the centre of the film is a love story set against conflict and heightened emotion, with music woven directly into the narrative. That setup instantly gives the project a distinct identity, especially with Aditya stepping into another romance-driven space and Tara joining him for what is being positioned as a striking new-screen combination.
A Reunion For Tara Sutaria With Familiar Collaborators
For Tara, the film also marks a reunion with collaborators she knows well. She previously worked with Bhushan Kumar and Milap Milan Zaveri on Marjaavaan, and her association with T-Series continued with Ek Villain Returns. This latest casting places her back with a team she has already delivered with, while introducing an entirely new co-star dynamic.
That history gives the announcement an added layer of familiarity behind the scenes, even as the film itself banks on a completely fresh lead pairing in front of the camera.
First Pairing, Big-Scale Musical Setup
The biggest draw, for now, is unquestionably the Aditya-Tara pairing. Neither actor has been cast opposite the other before, and that alone gives the film an early curiosity factor. Aditya’s screen image has often worked strongest in music-led romances, while Tara has consistently fit into visually polished mainstream love stories, making this crossover an interesting one to watch.
With T-Series backing the project, the soundtrack is expected to be one of its key selling points. In a theatrical romance where songs are central to the storytelling, the music rollout could become a major part of the film’s build-up well before release.
Tara Sutaria’s Recent And Upcoming Work
The new film arrives at an important moment for Tara, whose recent work includes Apurva in 2023 on Disney+ Hotstar, following theatrical releases such as Ek Villain Returns in 2022 and Tadap in 2021. This Aditya Roy Kapur starrer now gives her a fresh big-screen vehicle with a high-visibility pairing at its centre.
Aditya’s recent credits include Metro… In Dino in 2025, along with Gumraah and The Night Manager in 2023. That makes this Milap Milan Zaveri directorial a notable next move for both stars, with production set to begin later in 2026 and a 2027 theatrical release already in sight.
