After Adipurush, Prabhas To Star In A Mahabharat Adaptation. Details Inside

Prabhas is one of the biggest superstars in South India. With S. S. Rajamouli‘s Baahubali, he became a pan-India star. The actor was recently seen in the much-awaited mythological epic Adipurush which was based on Ramayan. However, the film has met with an overwhelmingly negative response for its wrongful depiction of several events, tacky visual effects, and badly written dialogues. Prabhas plays the role of Lord Ram, a portrayal that has mostly received mixed reviews.

Despite receiving flak for portraying a god on screen, Prabhas seems undisturbed. His upcoming film, Project K is said to be loosely inspired by another religious epic, Mahabharat. The science fiction film is set in the backdrop of world war 3 and is directed by Nag Ashwin. It stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Prabhas. Big B is reportedly playing a character modeled on Ashwatthama, while Prabhas will play Karna.

About Project K

Earlier, several media reports stated that Project K will explore the tenth avatar of Vishnu, which is set to take place in the current times of Kalyug. Seeing Mr. Bachchan and Prabhas playing the modern version of some of the most popular Mahabharat characters sounds interesting. But looking at the response of Adipurush, the makers will have to take every step with great caution.

Prabhas in particular will have to keep a lot of things in mind before portraying the iconic role of Karna. Project K is currently under production and is expected to release on 12 January 2024 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. It is being shot simultaneously in both Hindi and Telugu.
