Freddy has been the most talked about Bollywood film in the last year, owing to persistent allegations of controversy surrounding the film’s casting, which is led by Kartik Aaryan. However, everything was put to rest today when Ekta Kapoor and Jay Shewakrami revealed the project, which would be directed by Shashanka Ghosh.
A source now shared a recent update to Bollywood Hungama, “Freddy is an edge of the seat romantic thriller and the makers are using complex screenplay technique to explore the subject. The entire team, including Kartik, Ekta, and Shashanka feel that the subject is meant for the digital medium as that’s where it will find its audience. In the pandemic times, experimental cinema might not get acceptance from audience on the big screen.”
The filmmakers are adamant about making it a digital film from the start, and it comes up in every interaction with the cast. After the soon-to-be-released Dhamaka, which was also conceptualized as an OTT film, this would be Kartik’s second direct to digital film. The film will begin shooting on August 1 and will be completed in less than 35 days, setting a new record.
