One of the incredible actors, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a pioneer and leading personality on OTT, is well-known for Sacred Games, Manjhi, Manto, Monsoon Shootout. He has apparently been hit hard as there were no buyers for his seven films by OTT (Over-The-Top) platforms.
As the COVID-19 pandemic and things turn normal, one can find theatrical releases mostly or entirely as the only option left when the direct-to-digital slackens. Nawaz has been most loved by his fans and they are wondering about his next projects as he completed various films in the industry.
“This is news to me. To be very honest, once I complete a film I don’t keep track of its journey. Mera kaam hai acting karna. Usske aage main kuch nahin janta,” Bollywood Hungama quoted Nawaz as saying on his 7 films getting refusal by OTT platforms. He added, “Whether my films are seen on the big screen or at home, I am equally excited about it. There is no difference in my mind between the two experiences.”
“Sacred Games is my most avidly watched work and the most loved performance of my career. And it’s on the digital platform Netflix. On the other hand, films like The Mountain Man and Raghav Raman where I worked really hard were hardly seen in movie theatres,” Nawaz further said.
Earlier, the actor termed the OTT space and content as “Cliche” and “Kharab”. He had said that there is a habit of turning art into business and OTT has also become like that as Production houses are only earning money. He was much liked for his performance in “Serious Men” and “Sacred Games”.
