This business of breaking ‘Exclusive’ news has become menace. Journalists broke news to gain social media traction and most of the time half baked news. Last week Kartik came out in open and rubbished the rumour regarding his next film with Shraddha Kapoor.
On Tuesday, director Karan Johar used his Instagram account to release a statement, clarifying the reports that actors Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri are starring in an upcoming love story titled “Dhadak 2”.
Karan Johar took to Instagram and stated, “To put this on record and for all concerned, we (Dharma Productions) are NOT making a film with the title DHADAK 2 as is being reported in various articles.”
“The film will be directed by Shazia Iqbal and marks her debut as a director. Both Siddhant and Triptii are excited to feature in a raw and intense love story. The prep work will begin soon.” The report also stated that Dhadak 2 is expected to go on floors in the second half of this year,” Pinkvilla quoted its source as saying. This news was supposedly broke by Pinkvilla.
“Before taking the film on floors, there will be script reading sessions and acting workshops for the two leads. The film requires them to be in a rooted set up, with slight raw treatment to the story, which can only be polished through workshops. Apart from the father, some other characters also warrant the presence of credible actors. A cast will be put together in a month’s time,” its source added.
According to the report, an A-list actor has been approached to play the antagonist and the father of the female lead in an upcoming love story. Although Karan Johar has denied the title “Dhadak 2,” the report suggests that the project is in development, but it may not necessarily be named “Dhadak 2.”
Now next set of rumours will float whether title is changed or cast is not there or entire film is in thin air.
“Dhadak,” which was a remake of “Sairat,” marked the debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter and was directed by Shashank Khaitan. Siddhant Chaturvedi’s upcoming project is Zoya Akhtar’s “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan,” in which he stars alongside Adarsh Gourav and Ananya Panday. Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri’s latest appearance was in “Qala,” and she will be seen next in a project with Vicky Kaushal.
