After Pathaan, Jawan And KKBKKJ, Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ Becomes Fourth Indian Film to Release in Bangladesh

Ranbir Kapoor‘s highly anticipated film Animal is set to make its global debut on December 1, 2023, and will also be released in Bangladesh, making it the fourth Indian film to do so.

For those who don’t know, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan marked the beginning of Hindi films being released in Bangladesh, followed by SRK’s Jawan and Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Now, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal has become the fourth Indian movie to be released in Bangladeshi theaters. Pathaan was the first Hindi film to receive a commercial release in Bangladesh since 1971, opening in 48 theaters with nearly 200 shows per day. Animal also apparently becomes the second movie after Jawan to be released on the same day as the rest of the world.

The movie, which revolves around an intense family drama and the complex relationship between the characters, is expected to be a significant addition to the Indian film industry. The star-studded cast includes Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tripti Dimri, among others. With the film’s release in Bangladesh, it is poised to captivate audiences and further strengthen the cultural ties between India and Bangladesh.

The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has already created a buzz with its intense trailer, and Bangladeshi fans will have the opportunity to witness this pan-Indian film alongside its global release.

Ranbir Kapoor Opens About Animal’s Lengthy Duration: “We’re Not Arrogant About It”

At a recent press meet in Bengaluru, Ranbir Kapoor was asked about the runtime of Animal, to which he replied, “We are not releasing a film this long because we are arrogant about it. We felt that the story required this amount of time to reach the audience in the best way possible.”

He further added that he and the team have seen an even lengthier cut of the film, and that was also entertaining. “And actually, all of us have seen the cut of this film which was 3 hours, 49 minutes, and that also held. Wo bhi entertaining tha. But Sandeep has worked very hard to bring the length down. Because you cannot stretch it that much also. But hope that the audience doesn’t get panicked by the length. Just come and experience cinema at its best,” said the Animal actor.

Ranbir Kapoor on his character in Animal

In a recent conversation with Variety, Ranbir said, “My character in Animal shares some traits with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s protagonists. He is indeed tough and uncompromising in certain aspects,” Ranbir said. “But he is also multi-dimensional and complex, with moments of vulnerability and internal conflict that make him more relatable and human.”

“I was really drawn to the script of Animal,” he explained. “It’s a gripping and intense film that delves into the depths of human emotions and relationships. It explores the complexities of life and the choices we make, with a narrative that keeps you on the edge of your seat.”
