Shah Rukh Khan fans and moviegoers in general received a pleasant surprise on Tuesday evening when the superstar tweeted a video of his campaign for the soft drink Thums Up. The TVC depicts Shah Rukh in an action role, and his long hair and action feel are said to be inspired by his upcoming film Pathan. The ad received a positive response from all sectors, and the campaign was deemed a success.
Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan was formerly a marketing ambassador for Thums Up’s competitor, Pepsi. When SRK was affiliated with Pepsi for more than a decade, from the late 1990s to 2011, several advertisements featuring him praising the beverage were released. Surprisingly, celebrity Salman Khan was also associated with Thums Up at the time. In the early 2000s, he endorsed Thums Up, then from 2012 to 2016, he endorsed it again.
Salman Khan, coincidentally, is currently a Pepsi endorser. To put it another way, soft drink companies have swapped their steadfast brand champions. According to a source in a financial daily, Pepsi is planning a similar huge campaign with Salman after SRK’s Thums Up ad. According to reports, the ad will debut in mid-March, which is a good time because summer will have arrived, and soft drink sales will be at their peak.
