After the lukewarm reception of Yodha, it seems like Sidharth Malhotra is ready to join forces with Karan Johar again. Reports suggest the duo is planning a new drama film, to be directed by Sharan Sharma. Known for Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and Mr & Mrs Mahi, Sharan is set to create an emotionally charged human drama.
Sidharth Malhotra In Talks To Lead Sharan Sharma’s Human Drama
According to Peeping Moon, Sidharth has reportedly been approached for the lead role, with Johar considering him the perfect choice. The actor has shown interest and given a verbal nod to the project. However, he is waiting to read the full script before officially signing on.
If finalised, this will mark Sidharth’s sixth collaboration with Dharma Productions. Their past hits include Student of the Year, Kapoor & Sons, and the critically acclaimed Shershaah, which cemented Sidharth’s position in Bollywood.
Sidharth Malhotra Has Projects Like Param Sundari & Race 4 Lined up
Sidharth’s packed calendar might impact this project’s timeline. He is currently filming Param Sundari, a romantic comedy with Janhvi Kapoor, produced by Dinesh Vijan, in Kerala. After wrapping up, he will begin work on Vvan – Force of the Forest, a folk thriller with Sara Ali Khan, slated to start in March or April 2025. This film is targeting a Chhath Puja release.
The actor is also in early talks to join Race 4, potentially co-starring with Saif Ali Khan. However, production schedules for the action thriller are yet to be finalised.
Dharma Productions’ Upcoming Projects
Dharma Productions also has an impressive slate of films lined up for 2025. These include Akshay Kumar’s C Shankaran Nair biopic, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, and Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. Other titles include an untitled rom-com with Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, and Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan’s Sarzameen.
Additionally, Dharma has announced fresh projects like Kartik Aaryan’s Tu Meri Main Tera, Lakshya and Ananya Panday’s Chand Mera Dil, and a Neeraj Ghaywan-directed film featuring Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Vishal Jethwa.
