Ahaan Panday’s start in films is gathering momentum at a pace few newcomers get to claim. Even before his second Yash Raj Films project reaches audiences, the young actor has secured a third film with the banner, and this one takes him back to Mohit Suri, the director who introduced him on the big screen with blockbuster Saiyaara.
As per reports in Variety India, Ahaan will headline Mohit Suri’s next romantic drama for Yash Raj Films. The development strengthens an unusually swift creative partnership between actor, director and studio, especially at a time when Ahaan is still in the earliest phase of his career and YRF appears to be investing heavily in his screen journey.
Mohit Suri’s Next Film Takes Shape
Mohit Suri’s new project was not originally designed in its current form. The filmmaker had first developed a romantic comedy centred on an older man and a younger woman, but that version did not move forward with the actor he had in mind. The film was then reworked after Aditya Chopra suggested another romance with Ahaan, leading Suri back into a space that had already worked for the debutant in Saiyaara.
The latest update is that Suri is now rewriting the script to suit Ahaan Panday, with the film expected to go on floors by the end of 2026. That timeline places it after Ahaan completes his currently filming Yash Raj Films action romance with Ali Abbas Zafar, making the Mohit Suri film his third consecutive collaboration with the banner.
The reunion is also notable because interest around Suri’s next move had been building for weeks. With Ahaan now confirmed, the film locks in a familiar creative equation while giving the actor another prominent love story at a crucial point in his early run in Hindi cinema.
A Fast-Tracked YRF Slate For Ahaan Panday
Ahaan’s most recent release was Saiyaara, the 2025 theatrical romantic drama directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films. The film paired him with Aneet Padda and served as his launch vehicle, putting immediate focus on him as one of the newer faces the studio was keen to back.
His next confirmed film is the untitled Ali Abbas Zafar action romance, which began production in April 2026. Confirmed cast details place Sharvari opposite Ahaan, with Bobby Deol, Jimmy Shergill and Aaishvary Thackeray in key roles. The project signals a tonal shift from the emotional romance of Saiyaara to a more mounted commercial setup.
With a Mohit Suri romance now lined up as film number three, Ahaan’s early career already reflects a tightly curated studio strategy. The Yash Raj Films lineup gives him continuity with a successful director, a genre pivot through Ali Abbas Zafar’s actioner, and a return to the romantic space that first put him on the industry radar.
