Ajay Devgn is diving back into dark, supernatural territory, and the move already has the kind of intrigue that grabs Bollywood instantly. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the actor’s new horror film is moving ahead under the title Griha Pravesh, with the makers locking a United Kingdom schedule for the shoot.
What makes the project especially notable is the creative pairing behind it. Ajay has repeatedly shown he can anchor atmospheric thrillers with a mainstream edge, while director Rohit Jugraj brings a filmography that stretches from Hindi launches to successful Punjabi entertainers and the stylised series Chamak. Their collaboration gives Griha Pravesh a different texture from the franchise-driven titles that dominate Ajay’s current slate.
Griha Pravesh Title Finalised As UK Shoot Moves Ahead
The film is moving forward with Griha Pravesh as its title. An alternate title, Vaastu Shastra, was also in circulation during development, but Griha Pravesh is the name currently attached to the project as it heads into production.
The makers have also locked the United Kingdom as the location for a start-to-finish shoot. That points to a streamlined production plan, with principal photography designed to unfold in one continuous schedule rather than across multiple scattered legs.
The film is being directed by Rohit Jugraj, adding an interesting layer to the project’s creative profile. Jugraj began in Hindi cinema with James and Superstar, before building a strong body of work in Punjabi films with titles such as Sardaar Ji and Sardaar Ji 2. More recently, he directed the musical thriller series Chamak for Sony LIV. His association with the horror space also runs deeper than it first appears, since he had assisted Ram Gopal Varma on Bhoot, one of Ajay’s most recognised films in the genre.
A New Horror Chapter After Shaitaan
Griha Pravesh arrives as Ajay’s next major horror feature after Shaitaan, the 2024 supernatural thriller that reconnected him with a zone he has returned to at key moments in his career. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film starred Ajay alongside R Madhavan, Jyotika, Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj. Produced by Jio Studios, Devgn Films and Panorama Studios, it followed a family pushed into terror after a sinister outsider enters their home and uses black magic against them. The film grossed over ₹211 crore worldwide and reaffirmed the commercial potential of horror with a strong mainstream star at its centre.
Ajay Devgn’s Packed Slate Keeps Expanding
Ajay’s recent run has reflected just how wide his screen persona remains. In 2024 alone, he moved from the supernatural tension of Shaitaan to the sports drama Maidaan, where he played football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, and then to the romantic drama Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha opposite Tabu. He closed the year on a familiar mass note with Singham Again, stepping back into Rohit Shetty’s cop universe as Bajirao Singham.
That range makes Griha Pravesh an especially interesting addition to his lineup. His upcoming theatrical slate already includes Raid 2, with Ajay returning as IRS officer Amay Patnaik alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor. Against that backdrop, a fresh horror film directed by Rohit Jugraj gives his calendar something more textured, reinforcing that even amid sequels and established brands, Ajay continues to make room for darker, mood-driven storytelling.
