Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan are reuniting after 18 years for their new film Bhooth Bangla. To celebrate the filmmaker’s 68th birthday, Akshay posted a sweet behind-the-scenes picture from the set that shows their great bond.

On January 30, Akshay shared the fun photo on Instagram. The pic captures a light-hearted moment in which both are seen laughing and pointing at each other. The picture reminded fans of the successful collaborations these two have had over the years.
Sharing the post, Akshay wrote, “Happy Birthday, Priyan Sir! What better way to celebrate than by spending the day on a haunted set, surrounded by ghosts—both real and unpaid extras? As soon as he shared the post, fans filled the comments section with birthday wishes for the director. Many also expressed excitement about Bhooth Bangla and praised the amazing bond between Akshay and Priyadarshan.

Bhooth Bangla’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ Link
Bhooth Bangla is linked to their 2007 hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Earlier, a source close to the film had revealed that the team is currently filming at Chomu Palace in Jaipur, where Bhool Bhulaiyaa was shot 18 years ago. The horror plot of Bhooth Bangla will unfold in the same palace, making it a nostalgic return.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla stars Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Mithila Palkar, and Wamiqa Gabbi. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the film is set to hit theatres on April 2, 2026.
The team is currently shooting in Jaipur. Recently, Tabu posted a picture marking the completion of her part in the film. It would be interesting to see how the director and cast blend comedy and horror once again.
