The fans of the 90s hit pair Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon might be in for a treat as the ex-couple is reportedly set to reunite on the big screen after 19 years. According to a report by Filmfare, Raveena has been approached to play the female lead opposite Akshay in the third installment of the comedy franchise Welcome, titled Welcome To The Jungle.
Akshay And Raveena: A Long-Awaited Reunion
Akshay and Raveena were one of the most popular couples of the 90s, who starred in several films together such as Mohra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Dava, Keemat and Barood. They were also engaged very briefly, however, their relationship did not last long and they parted ways in the late 90s. They were last seen together in the 2004 film Aan: Men At Work, which was a flop at the box office.
Since then, both Akshay and Raveena have moved on in their personal lives and are happily married to their respective spouses. They have also maintained a cordial relationship with each other and have praised each other’s work in public. In an interview earlier this year, Raveena called Akshay “one of the strongest pillars” of the film industry and said that they are still friends.
Recently, Raveena also opened about her iconic song ‘Tip Tip Barsa Pani’ which was recreated in another Akshay Kumar starrer, “I was very clear that my saree will not come off, this will not happen, that will not happen, there’ll be no kissing, there’ll be no nothing. So, there were a lot of cross marks rather than tick marks on that song, and eventually, we came up with something that was Tip Tip, which was a correct balance of sensuality, more than anything else.”
The news of Akshay and Raveena’s reunion has created a lot of buzz among their fans who are eagerly waiting to see them together on screen after a long gap. The duo has delivered some memorable performances and songs in their previous films and have a great chemistry on screen. It will be interesting to see how they will fit into the comic genre of Welcome 3 and whether they will be able to recreate their magic on screen.

Welcome 3: Welcome To The Jungle
Welcome 3 is the sequel to the 2007 film Welcome and the 2015 film Welcome Back, which were directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. The films featured an ensemble cast of Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, John Abraham, Shruti Haasan, Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia among others.
However, Welcome 3 will have a completely new cast and will be helmed by Ahmed Khan, who has previously directed films like Baaghi 2 and Baaghi 3. The film will also star Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi who have replaced Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar in their roles. The film also stars Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez in pivotal roles. The film is expected to go on floors by the end of this year and will be released on Christmas 2024.
The plot of Welcome 3 is said to revolve around a jungle adventure where Akshay and Raveena will play a married couple who get into trouble with some wild animals and gangsters. The film will also have a lot of comedy and action sequences to entertain the audience.
