Today is Akshay Kumar’s birthday. Unfortunately, it is not a happy day for the Kumar family, as the superstar’s mother passed away just a day ago on Wednesday. Kumar’s mother, Aruna Bhatia, was admitted to the hospital in Mumbai a few days ago and died on Wednesday morning.
On the occasion of his birthday, Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to share a beautiful throwback photo with his mother. Akshay can be seen getting a kiss on the cheek from his mother in the photo.
Sharing the picture, Akshay wrote, “Would have never liked it this way but am sure mom is singing Happy Birthday to me from right up there! Thanks to each one of you for your condolences and wishes alike. Life goes on.”

While informing the demise of his mother on Wednesday, Akshay had posted, “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti”
