According to Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who addressed the ever-growing controversy surrounding Paresh Rawal’s abrupt departure from Hera Pheri 3, “this is a serious matter,” and Kumar defended his co-star and friend from being called “foolish”.
During the trailer launch for Housefull 5, at a multiplex in Mumbai, Akshay Kumar came face to face with the cast, which included the heavily loaded ensemble of Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Shreyas Talpade, and many others.

A journalist attending the star-studded extravaganza brought up the continuing legal row about Paresh Rawal and commented that fans felt his exit was “foolish”. Akshay was quick to jump in.
“First of all, I would like to say, you should not use this kind of word for my co-star, ‘foolish’, I don’t think that’s right,” Akshay said.
“I have worked with him for the last 32 years. We are very good friends. He is a great actor, I am a big fan.”

Akshay Kumar, who is also producing Hera Pheri 3 under his own umbrella, Cape of Good Films, opted not to talk about the finer points of the legal disputes, which included even taking the high road by letting it be known that the issue has hit the court system.
“I don’t think this is the platform where I am going to speak about it because… it’s a very serious matter. It’s a matter which will be decided by the courts. So I don’t think I am going to talk about it here.”
Hera Pheri 3 Legal Dispute – What we know so far:
- Paresh Rawal quit the film, citing script issues and issues of clarity.
- Akshay Kumar’s company allegedly sued Rawal because of a breach of the term sheet and for being a monetary loss to the production.
- Paresh Rawal’s legal team has since said he never received a full script with a complete long-form agreement.
- For good measure, Firoz Nadiadwala, the original producer, has sent legal notices to Akshay, Paresh, and others for breaching IP law rights.
- The legal triangle has put Hera Pheri 3 in limbo because they even shot a promo earlier this year.
Housefull 5 Trailer Launch Creates Buzz
At the same time, Akshay Kumar will be keeping the energy alive with the arrival of Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The trailer suggests that there will be a murder mystery on a cruise, double roles for the cast, mistaken identities, and an overall comedic thriller set-up.

Akshay Kumar managed the moment with a maturity that is rarely seen these days. He offered solidarity whilst exercising restraint. Although Hera Pheri 3 continues as a courtroom drama off-screen, both the industry and fan base will want to see the original trio of Raju, Shyam and Baburao reunite.
