The highly anticipated movie ‘Selfiee’ is all set to be released this week. For the very first time in the history of Bollywood , Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi will be seen together on the big screens. Fans are really stoked for the movie release because of its interesting teaser, cool and party music soundtracks. The hype has been extra boosted by Akshay Kumar’s debut collaboration with Emraan Hashmi.
It has recently come to light that Selfiee was approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) about two weeks ago. The movie received a U/A certificate from the CBFC examination committee. It is interesting to note that the Censor Board did not impose any cuts, either aural or visual. On February 8, the certificate was delivered to the creators. The censor certificate specifies that the movie is 143 minutes long. Selfiee has a 2 hour, 23 minute running time.
According to Bollywood Hungama, ‘Selfiee’ is Akshay Kumar’s Seventh film in the post-pandemic era and his Fourth picture after Covid to receive zero cuts. It’s quite a feat at a time when the CBFC has turned more strict with the films’ content.
Bellbottom (2021), Akshay Kumar’s first movie following the epidemic, received a U/A rating with no cuts. This also occurred with his following release, Sooryavanshi (2021). Subsequently, his family show Raksha Bandhan (2022) received a ‘U’ certificate without any changes or deletions. Yet, because of its action scenes and double-meaning speech, Bachchhan Paandey (2022) was censored. In four different spots in Samrat Prithviraj (2022), CBFC requested dialogue adjustments. Ram Setu (2022) was also subject to some censorship and replacements in the dialogues.
‘Selfiee’ movie is a Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie ‘Driving License’.The movie stars Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. Actress Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha will also be seen in the pivotal roles.
